Flipper Exercises

    Welcome Flippers!

Here you will find a plethora of resources to help you maintain chord closure through your vocal bridges.  I will show you how to use vowels, consonants, scales, and friendly compression tools to strengthen your ability to press in through the bridges and create one beautiful voice!

This first video will teach you a simple exercise you can do without a scale.  It is an edgy, squeaky door sound that doesn't sound much like singing.  Don't worry, it isn't supposed to!  This exercise is like lifting dumbbells for your intrinsic larynx muscles.  Squeak away!

Now let's utilize this nice squeaky vocal chord compression, add a consonant to create even more chord closure, and top it off with a nice wide vowel.  In this video, we use "Ae" as in "at."  If you happen to be a chest puller who flips, use the chest puller videos first, then come back and do this exercise on a dopey, edgy "buh" as in "book."

If you are having trouble with this exercise, please leave me a comment letting me know what the problem is and I'll respond asap!
